In a significant development, there are reports that the IPL 2025 final is likely to be postponed and the new date is said to be May 30. Earlier, the final was set to be played on May 25, but because of the suspension of the league on May 8, the final is said to be pushed back.

In a report from Devendra Pandey of Indian Express, he remarked that IPL 2025 is set to take place on May 30.

“As the IPL was suspended for a week, there is a possibility of the IPL final now being played on May 30 instead of May 25 with limited venues. The schedule will be sent to all IPL teams by tonight,” source in the BCCI informed.

Key Decisions Taken For Resumption Of IPL 2025

Besides the final being pushed for May 30, the league is set to resume from May 16 and the BCCI has also reportedly asked the franchises to recall overseas stars by Tuesday and gather at their home venues expect Punjab Kings.

“All franchises have been told to inform its team to report to their respective destination by Tuesday,” a source in the Indian board confirmed.

Also, a major decision has been taken on the venue front as Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad are the front-runners to host the remainder of the league. Further, the report from India Express also mentioned that the fixtures for the remaining matches are set to be released on Sunday night (May 11).

A decision is yet to be taken on increasing the double-header games, but looking at BCCI's plan to push the final, it is unlikely that there will be a significant increase in the numbers of double-headers.
