It is very rare, that a batter overshadows Virat Kohli, however, Shubman Gill did the unthinkable during Gujarat Titans (GT) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) encounter on Sunday evening in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). Kohli's hundred helped RCB to 197, where all other batters failed in a must-win tie.

In response, Gill slammed a century of his own, helping GT win the match by eight wickets, and knocked out RCB of the competition.

Gill, in the ongoing IPL 2023 has been a treat to watch, carrying his international form. The GT opener is the second-highest run-getter this season, making 680 runs, only behind Faf du Plessis (730).

Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh praised Gill's knock and explained how the Punjab batter is different than Kohli. Speaking to Star Sports, the former Chennai Super Kings legend said Gill has lazy elegance as compared to Kohli's intensity.

Here's what Singh said

"Shubman Gill constructs his innings brilliantly. He has his own persona and possesses that lazy elegance, unlike intense Virat Kohli. He can play all kinds of shots with ease just like Kohli, but he won't appear as aggressive as Kohli with his body language. He is a different character. He's such a prospective talent for India."

The off-spinner further lauded Kohli's approach of always playing in the 'V', which makes the former India captain dangerous across formats.

Gill will be in action for GT against CSK this evening when both teams clash in Qualifier 1 at Chepauk for a place in final.
