'We Did A Big Favour To RCB' - Rohit Sharma

Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma said that his players were just focusing on claiming the two points against Sunrisers Hyderabad and the mindset helped them play a positive brand of cricket which ultimately resulted in a comfortable eight-wicket win.

Cameron Green's sensational maiden IPL hundred helped the five-time champions hammer SRH into submission as they gunned down the target of 201 without breaking a sweat to give themselves the best possible chance of reaching the playoffs.

Mumbai will still have to wait for the result of the ongoing RCB versus GT fixture to confirm their spot in the playoffs.

Last season, MI did a favour to RCB by winning their last league game to help them reach the playoffs. Rohit cheekily urged the Faf du Plessis-led unit to return the favour this time around.

"We came with that mindset, we wanted to win and not worry about what happens elsewhere. What you can control, you can control and then hope for the best. I haven't spoken to anyone. If we don't go through, we've got ourselves to blame for it. If we go through, I'll give all the credit to the boys. That's how it works."

"Last year, we did a big favour to RCB, I hope we get the result that we are looking for. We did a lot of things right as we went along. We didn't start well and then won three on the trot. The crucial moments in the game that we lost - there were a lot of moments like that."

"The game against Punjab here where we needed around 34 runs off 18 balls, we could have probably played well. And in the last game against LSG, we had the game in our hands after the first half of the innings. We can't look too much into that. Sometimes it just doesn't come along."

Meanwhile, the Royal Challengers Bangalore were reeling at 91/3 in the 10th over against the Gujarat Titans.

If RCB end up losing the match, then MI will pip them over points and claim the 4th spot in the points table.
