KKR has blown hot and cold in the IPL 2023 but what has been evident in all their matches is their fighting spirit. They were hampered by flurry of injuries before and during this season but they fought hard and are still in with a slim chance of making it to the playoffs. They have now beaten MSD's CSK at Chepauk which in itself is a huge achievement for a young KKR unit giving their all under the leadership of a young captain, Nitish Rana.

Nitish Rana retaliated the fighting spirit of his side in his post-match interview as well. He started off by saying that he knew that if they do well in all three departments they can win games against any team. He also applauded Chandrakant Pandit, the KKR head coach for convincing him to take heavy roller before the start of the innings and felt that the pitch settled nicely after the roller was rolled.

" Yeah, sir, As I said in the toss too, if we do well in the three departments then we can win the match. I think the credit goes to Chandu[Chandrakant Pandit] sir as he said me to take the heavy roller, I was not in favor of that though. I felt the heavy roller might break the pitch, but it went in our way as the pitch settled after the roller was rolled,"

The KKR skipper also credited his spinners for the way they bowled and said that he was not in favour of giving Narine four overs on the trot but the West Indian convinced him and got a wicket as well. Rana also made a big statement that every team has a home advantage expect KKR and added that in the IPL, one day they play on a good pitch and another day, they have to play on a slow pitch. He, however, added that the batter who adjusts to these varied conditions is a real quality batter.

"I wanna give credit to the spinners. The way they bowled, I was in doubt to give the four overs on a trot to Sunil but he said he will bowl and he scalped a wicket. It's gonna happen, because of the home and away games. I think every team has a home advantage except KKR. We play on good pitches and score 200 and 200+ runs and on the other day, we play on slower pitches, and the scores are low. I think this shows the real quality of the batter to adjust to all the conditions."

KKR will now play their last league game on 20th of May against LSG at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
