'The message Was To...,' POTM Wayne Parnell After RCB's Demolition Of RR

Royal Challengers Bangalore's left-arm seamer Wayne Parnell made a successful return to the playing XI on Sunday afternoon as he dished out a brilliant spell on a slow surface in Jaipur to set up a comprehensive 112-run win over the Rajasthan Royals.

On a pitch that was clearly aiding change of pace and spinners, Parnell used his cutters to brilliant effect, leaving the Royals' top order bereft of answers.

The Proteas seamer landed a killer blow on RR in his very first over when he took out Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson within a space of three deliveries.

He then proceeded to deceive Joe Root with a cutter, trapping the former English Test captain plumb in front.

Parnell finished with figures of 3/10 in three overs, and was adjudged 'Player of the Match" at the presentation ceremony.

Speaking to the host broadcaster, Parnell acknowledged the impact of Anuj Rawat's cameo and his game plan, which reaped him and his fellow bowlers a lot of success on Sunday.

Here's what Wayne Parnell said:

"Obviously, credit to our batters. The last over gave us momentum. We could execute well. The message was to take pace off the ball. Bowl it at the sticks. We were able to execute everything. The surface was low, slow and skiddy. I was trying to make them play across the line. When I wasn't playing, I was preparing. It is a long tournament and you need to be switched on every game."

Thanks to this win, RCB have now moved to the 5th spot in the points table. They now have 12 points after 12 games, and their NRR is finally in positive.

The Du Plessis-led unit will now head to Hyderabad to lock horns with SRH on May 18.
