Lucknow SuperGiants batter Prerak Mankad expressed his gratitude towards his management for giving him the opportunity to showcase his talent after his unbeaten 45-ball 64 helped his side claim a thrilling win over the SunRisers Hyderabad on Saturday afternoon.

Playing in just his 2nd game of the season, Mankad stood up to the vote of confidence that the management had given him by smashing a match-winning half-century in what was a must-win game for LSG.

Mankad came to bat after LSG lost Kyle Mayers cheaply in the powerplay, and he proceeded to bat throughout the innings, stitching valuable stands with Quinton de Kock, Marcus Stoinis, and Nicholas Pooran.

Mankad was rightly adjudged the Player of the Match in the post-match presentation, where he unraveled his mindset and game plan which helped him counter a quality SRH attack led by Mayank Markande.

Here's what Prerak Mankad said:

"Most important game for us, my score does not matter to me, whichever team I play I want to contribute. I was trying to hit the spinners and couldn't connect, I knew Mayank would try to get me out and I have played against him in domestic cricket, so took my chance. Thanks to the management for giving me this opportunity. I haven't batted a lot at number 3 but have batted in the top four. I back my ability and strength, it worked out in the end. Whatever happens at the other end should not effect me, and because of Stoinis and Pooran we won this game."

Thanks to this win, LSG have broken into the top-4. They now have 13 points after 12 outings, and their next challenge will be against the Mumbai Indians at the Ekana Stadium on May 16.
