The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 has been all about domestic talent coming forth and showcasing their skills. One such cricketer is Rajasthan Royals' Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has been a revelation this season. Jaiswal is the second-highest tun-getter in IPL 2023 with 575 runs, which includes one century and four fifties.

Jaiswal slammed a 13-ball fifty (fastest in IPL) against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Thursday at Eden Gardens and missed his second ton this season by two runs, remaining unbeaten on 98. Former South Africa skipper Graeme Smith, who also played for RR, hailed Jaiswal for improving himself and transforming into a more dynamic batter.

Speaking on Jio Cinema, Smith stated that Jaiswal has done his part, and now the onus lies on Team India selectors to pick the youngster or not for World Cup.

Here's what Smith said

“In terms of selection, he is certainly knocking down the door. That is all he can do at the moment right now. He has controlled that. Indian cricket is blessed with a lot of options like senior cricketers in Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, who is injured now. You also have Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill. The selectors surely have some nice headaches to have but Yashasvi has certainly put his name right up there in the conversation,”

Former Indian players like Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, and Ravi Shastri have backed Jaiswal's inclusion in the Indian side as soon as possible.
