'He Is The Best Batter...,' Hardik Pandya After A Shattering Loss Against MI

GT are the defending champions of the IPL and they have played like one in the IPL 2023. They are the table-toppers currently but had one off day against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede on Friday Night. Hardik Pandya and his boys were on the receiving end of a scintillating century by Suryakumar Yadav and though Rashid Khan tried his best to take his team over the line with an all-round performance, MI were too good for GT in the end.

Hardik Pandya talking after the match said that they did not turn up in this game and were pretty flat. He credited Rashid Khan though for his all-round performance but felt that they fell short as a group in all departments. He mentioned that they gave away way too many runs with the ball in the death and added that Suryakumar Yadav is the best batter in the world at this point in time.

"Absolutely. It felt that from our team, he turned up. Full marks to him. The way he batted and bowled on this surface was tremendous. We don't have to try much. As a group, in all the departments, we were not there. With the ball, we were flat. We didn't execute well. I feel we were 30 runs short. It says 27 but I feel we gave too many runs in the end. I think people have spoken enough about him (SKY). He is the best batter going around in the world at the moment."

Gujarat Titans are still at the top of the points table and will play their next game against SRH on 15th of May at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
