Mumbai Indians (MI) are the five-time IPL champions and they are known to peak at the right time in the IPL and that is exactly what they are doing in IPL 2023. They have strengthen their position with a comprehensive win over GT by 27 runs and now have 14 points on the board with two matches still to go in the league stage.

The win was crafted by a scintillating century by Suryakumar Yadav and MI's skipper, Rohit Sharma was a proud man after his team's win over table-toppers. Rohit said that it was pleasing for them to win the game while defending at Wankhede but felt that they could have done better at the death.

" Yeah, it was an interesting game. Especially from our point of view, it was good to win the game. And in the end, the crowd got some enjoyment. That was from our perspective it was quite pleasing, to defend the total this way, not the way it ended though,"

Rohit mentioned that they bowled well till the 15th over and dew came in the end but applauded his bowlers for bowling well. He also informed that they were thinking of going with left-hand right-hand combination at the start of the game but Suryakumar Yadav was pretty clear that he wanted to bat at 3. Rohit also added that SKY has a lot of confidence and he comes fresh into every game and it is good from the Indian team's point of view as well.

"Till the 15th over we bowled well, but in the end the dew came in. It was a great effort from the bowlers. At the start of the game, we thought about whether we needed to go for a left and right combination, but Surya came and said NO, I want to go in. That's the kind of confidence he brings up and rubs off on the guys who are batting with him. He comes really fresh in every game, it's good for the Indian team too. It's sometimes easy to sit back and be proud of it, but he doesn't do that he just comes fresh in every game."

Mumbai Indians will now play their next game against Lucknow on May 16th at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.
