In a do-or-die situation, Delhi Capitals' (DC) batting order fired like none other as they finished the 182-run chase inside 17 overs as a blitz from Phil Salt and a late attack from Rilee Rossouw sealed the deal for them to earn two crucial points. It was after Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) Virat Kohli and Mahipal Lomror brought up their fifties to cross 180.

Rossouw during the post-match presentation, lauded his teammates by mentioning that they played with great intent in the first six overs which made the finishing job a lot easier.

Moreover, he stressed on the fact that it was a tricky wicket which turned and gripped in the initial stages of the game but became better for batting as the match progressed.

"It was a tricky pitch. It was gripping and turning earlier. I think Salt played a blinder. He was fantastic and the way he took on the bowlers in the first six set the match for us. Otherwise, it would have been a tough chase,"

Adding to this, Rilee spoke about the intent that his side brought to the field as they played with a clear mindset of winning the game instead of focusing on how many games they had before this which would only help them to keep their hopes alive for playoffs.

"The intent of can't lose anymore brings out the best in us. We can't lose any game from here and the freedom it gave us was the result you saw tonight. The way we played tonight no one will tell that we lost 6 games or how many ever. We need to keep going and who knows we might be lucky to sneak into the playoffs."

Delhi after this victory will clash against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at their fortress Chepauk on 10th May.
