Sourav Ganguly, DC's Director of Cricket is all over social media these days with regards to his spat with Virat Kohli. However, Ganguly is not new to controversy and handling criticism and pressure and has been one of the most successful captains in Indian cricket. He clearly knows the way to focus on his work despite all the noise around him and it is exactly what he seems to be doing now as DC's Director of Cricket.

Delhi Capitals (DC) have finally hit the right note in IPL 2023 with a four-wicket win over KKR at their home ground after losing their opening five games. It was a brilliant bowling performance from the hosts but their batters almost made a mess of a rather easy chase and just about managed to win the game in the last over.

Talking after the match, Sourav Ganguly admitted to being nervous in the run-chase and compared the nervousness of getting the first win to his first run in Test cricket. He also felt that they were the lucky side.

"We are happy to get off the mark. I was sitting in the dugout and thinking it was like my first Test match run, 25 years ago. I think we were on the luckier side,"

Ganguly also added that they have bowled well before in the season too in Bangalore and Mumbai but reckoned that the batting has been their major issue on pitches that are good for batting and fast outfields.

"I think we've bowled well this season even the game before to Bangalore to restrict them to 160-170. I thought we did well. The game before in Bombay we defended 160 well. So the bowling has been good. These are good pitches, fast outfields so its hard on the bowlers. But the problem is the batting,"

The former BCCI president also praised Nortje along with Mukesh and Ishant for bowling well. He added that most of the guys in their batting line-up have played a lot of T20 cricket and they have to find a way to bat better.

"Nortje has been outstanding for us. Good to see Mukesh and Ishant turn up and do well with the ball. We have a lot of work to do. We haven't been playing well. Most of these guys have played a lot of T20 cricket. It's probably time to look and find a way to bat better."

Delhi Capitals will now play their next match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday, 24th of April at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
