After breathtaking at the international level, South African pace sensation Marco Jansen and India's Renuka Singh have been named ICC Emerging Cricketers of the Year for 2022.

Debuting for South Africa in December 2021, Jansen has rose strength to strength since getting to the top-flight level. In 2022, the 22-year-old seamer scalped 37 wickets from 8 Tests, 2 ODIs and 1 T20I match he played.

The Proteas seamer made his Test debut against a visiting Indian lineup in 2021-22. However, against the mighty Indian batting, Jansen used his left-arm angle and swing off the wrist cannily to bag 19 wickets from three Tests at an average of 16.47.

On the back of blazing outings, the seamer bagged an IPL contract from Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he stunned many prolific batters.

Renuka made her mark during the 2022 Commonwealth Games, where she finished the tournament as the highest wicket-taker with 11 wickets from 5 T20Is, helping India finish with a silver medal in the games.
