Riding on scintillating half-centuries of Ross Taylor and Ashley Nurse, India Capitals thwarted aside Bhilwara Kings in a high-scoring semi-final at the Barkatullah Khan Stadium, Jodhpur on Sunday, October 2.

Chasing the victory target of 227 runs, Ross Taylor and Ashley Nurse wreaked absolute havoc and clobbered the Bhilwara bowlers to all corners of the park as India Capitals cruised home in 19.3 overs.

While Taylor played a belligerent knock of 84 runs from 39 deliveries, studded with nine boundaries and five towering sixes, Ashley Nurse remained undefeated for 28-ball 60, which included five boundaries and four sixes.

India Capitals, in fact, got handy contributions from their entire batting unit with the likes of Dwayne Smith (14-ball 24), Denesh Ramdin (9-ball 13), and Liam Plunkett (9-ball 20) chipping in along with Taylor and Nurse.

On the bowling front, Fidel Edwards got two wickets but he went on to concede 54 runs in his four overs spell. The likes of Monty Panesar, S Sreesanth, Jesal Karia, and Sudeep Tyagi got a scalp each.

Yusuf Pathan & Shane Watson's Madness

Earlier, Bhilwara Kings rode on Shane Watson and William Porterfield's flamboyant fifties to plunder 226 runs on the board for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

While the Australian legend played a phenomenal knock of 65 runs off 39 balls, Porterfield whacked 59 from 37 deliveries. Yusuf Pathan, playing at strike rate of 200, smashed 48 runs off just 24 balls.

Rajesh Bishnoi also played a breezy cameo of 11-ball 36 and his late fireworks in the final overs meant Bhilwara Kings finished off with a mammoth total of 226 runs on the board at the end of the first innings.

For India Capitals, the legendary pacer Mitchell Johnson plucked two wickets while the likes of Liam Plunkett, Rajat Bhatia, and Pankaj Singh bagged a wicket apiece.

A defeat in the first semi-final doesn't mean a curtain to Bhilwara Kings' journey in the tournament as they will get another chance to secure a berth in the final alongside India Capitals.

The Irfan Pathan-led side will now lock horns with Virender Sehwag's Gujarat Giants in the Eliminator match, set to be played on Monday, October 3 at Barkatullah Khan Stadium.
