Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta slammed a social media troll, who jokingly remarked if Glenn Maxwell was not performing for the team because he did not get to marry her. Irked by the question, the prominent Bollywood actress urged the netizen to give her the due respect and “stop with the gender bias”.

Addressing the sexist joke, Preity Zinta also curiously asked the troll if he would ever ask such a question to a male franchise owner in the IPL.

Preity Zinta slams troll for sexist joke

During a Q&A interaction with fans on X on Tuesday, May 13; Preity Zinta was jokingly asked by a random user about Glenn Maxwell’s recent struggles this IPL 2025 season. The user remarked if Maxwell was underperforming because he “could not get to marry” the Punjab Kings owner-cum-Bollywood actress.

Fuming over the sexist joke, Preity Zinta fittingly slammed the troll and asked if he would ask such a question to a male IPL team owner. The actress also added that she got into this position by working hard over the past 18 years, and urged everyone to stop with the gender bias.

For the unversed, the Punjab Kings franchise roped in Glenn Maxwell back during the IPL 2025 mega auction last year. In turn, Maxwell managed to accrue just 48 runs from six innings of the tournament at a dismal average of eight and at a strike rate of less than 100.

Nonetheless, Preity Zinta’s Punjab Kings’ franchise is enjoying one of its best seasonal campaigns in over a decade. With seven wins and just three defeats (one no-result) from 11 matches, Punjab Kings is currently one of the leading contenders to qualify for the playoffs.

Shreyas Iyer and co. will now face Rajasthan Royals in match 59 of the IPL 2025 season on Sunday, May 18 in Jaipur.
