Shikhar Dhawan, aka 'Gabbar', a long-time teammate of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli has shared an emotional post where he penned down his words for his closest cricket friends. Notably, the trio of Rohit, Kohli and Dhawan were at their peak in 2015. The formidable trio played 166 matches together, winning 100 of them and losing 56.

The opening duo of Rohit and Dhawan was usually backed by Virat Kohli at no. 2 and the former cricketer opened up about this relation along with the off-field camaraderie.

Dhawan's Heartfelt Words For The 'Trio'

Taking to his official Instagram account, Dhawan posted pictures of Rohit and Kohli beside him with a heart-touching caption that reached over 270K+ likes within 30 minutes of posting.

"Pitch par sirf shots nahi, yaariyaan bhi banti hain. Proud to have shared the field with two of the finest, @rohitsharma45 and @virat.kohli. Thank you for the memories, the laughs, and the moments that created history. Test cricket will miss you," Dhawan wrote.

While cricket fans cherished the moment the trio had in their time, fans didn't forget to trigger the nostalgia in the comment section too as one said, "Ye Number One Yaari Thi Hain aur hmesha Rahegi (God Gabbar RoKo)". Another user wrote, "One of the Best Openers I've seen in My life."

Shikhar Dhawan's Illustrious Cricket Career

Shikhar Dhawan, the flamboyant left-handed opening batter, enjoyed a distinguished cricket career spanning over a decade. Making his international debut in 2010, Dhawan played 34 Tests, 167 ODIs, and 68 T20Is for India, amassing over 10,000 international runs with 24 centuries.

Dhawan was instrumental in India’s 2013 ICC Champions Trophy triumph, finishing as the tournament’s leading run-scorer. In the IPL, Dhawan became the second-highest run-scorer, known for his prolific partnership with David Warner at Sunrisers Hyderabad.

He was also a consistent performer for Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings. On August 24, 2024, Dhawan announced his retirement from cricket and last featured in the Asian Legends T20 in 2025.
