Australia and South Africa announce squads for the upcoming WTC 2025 final in Lord’s. Indian fast bowler Arshdeep Singh might find a place in the team for next month’s five-match Test series in England. In other news, West Indies batter Shimron Hetmyer will likely not return back to India for the remaining matches of the IPL 2025 season.

South Africa, Australia Announce WTC Final Squads

Both Cricket South Africa (CSA) as well as Cricket Australia (CA) have unveiled the squads of the South African and Australian teams respectively for the impending WTC 2025 final match between the two sides. Temba Bavuma is set to continue as South African captain, and the team features several IPL 2025 stars like Ryan Rickelton, Kagiso Rabada and Tristan Stubbs.

CA recalled all-rounder Cameron Green into the Australian team for the match, and included Brendan Doggett as a reserve player. Sam Konstas and Beau Webster also found spots in the line-up, set to be led by legendary fast bowler Pat Cummins. The WTC final will be played between June 11 and June 15 in Lord’s.

Arshdeep Singh On Radar For Test Debut In England: Report

Arshdeep Singh is reportedly in consideration to get selected in the Indian team for the upcoming five-match Test tour of England. Yet to make his Test debut, the cricketer has played nine ODIs and 63 T20Is so far and was part of the Indian team that lifted the 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies last year. As per RevSportz, Arshdeep is being considered for a possible selection owing to Mohammed Shami’s concerns with injuries.

Shimron Hetmyer Unlikely To Return For IPL 2025: Report

Explosive West Indies batter Shimron Hetmyer is unlikely to return to India for the remainder of the IPL 2025 season. A part of the Rajasthan Royals franchise, the left-handed batter has played all 12 matches for his team so far this year, but has managed to tally just 216 runs at an average of 21.60 and at a strike rate of 146.93. As per the schedule, the Royals will resume their IPL 2025 campaign with a match against Punjab Kings on May 18 in Jaipur.

ECB Announces England Squad For WI Series

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have announced England’s squad for their upcoming ODI and T20I series against the West Indies. Newly-appointed captain Harry Brook will be leading England in both formats for the first time since the resignation of previous white-ball skipper Jos Buttler. The series will launch from May 29 onwards with the first ODI in Birmingham, and will conclude on June 10 in Southampton with the third T20I.

Abhimanyu Easwaran To Lead India A: Report

Several reports are indicating that Abhimanyu Easwaran is being considered as the captain of the India A team for the upcoming tour of England. The India A team is scheduled to face England Lions in two four-day matches next month. A top-order batter from Bengal, Easwaran is not competing in the ongoing IPL 2025 season. The series will serve as a prelude for several younger players, who might find a place in the senior Indian team for the subsequent five-match Test series against the hosts.
