The CSA Provincial T20 Cup 2022 witnessed two matches being taken place, while the other two were washed out. Here's a brief report on the action that transpired in Pietermaritzburg. 


Easterns vs Mpumalanga

Batting first, Eastern's opener Nhlanhla Mashigo (12) could not provide a notable contribution. However, Danie Rossouw (24) and Juan Lubbe (54) were clinical to provide a stable platform for the middle-order. Then, Matthew Arnold provided a late flourish with 48 off 28 balls to power Easterns to a total of 173. 

In response, Yassar Cook (50) and Tumi Koto (24) added 73 runs for the first wicket in a matter of seven overs. Afterwards, Rubin Hermann (39) and Martin Dlamini (23) were the key contributors as Mpumalanga secured a victory on the last ball.

Kwazulu-Natal-Inland vs South Africa Under-19

U19 team batted first, and got a superb start with Ronan Hermann (24) and Meeka-eel Prince (45). The duo added 61 runs in seven overs, and set a launch pad for the batters arriving at the crease. 

However, Dewan Marais (23) and Richard Seletswane (19) were the top-scorers as they posted 150 on the board.

Then, the KwaZulu-Natal Inland team were rocked by the double strike of their skipper Michael Erlank and Andile Mokgakane, which evaded them of a positive start. Malcolm Nofal (54) and Thamsanqa Kumalo (33) tried well, but the U19 team prevailed by 15 runs.
