Off-spinner Moeen Ali and leg-spinner Adil Rashid, according to a report published in The Cricketer, are expected to turn down the recall proposal for the English Test squad.

The duo have expressed their specific concerns when contacted by the Managing director of cricket Rob Key, which might affect their chances in future. However, Ali could be available if his concerns are addressed genuinely by current English Test head coach Brendon McCullum, to whom he might speak to in the coming days.

Moeen has communicated his worry regarding restrictions imposed on players, adding to his busy winter schedule. Conversely, Rashid has given issues with his shoulder with workload management as major factors.

With problems plenty for both of them, the experienced campaigners have hinted that they might not be accessible for the upcoming tours to Pakistan in the white jersey.

A few months back, Ali was in discussion with McCullum, about his return to the longest format but as this update suggests, he might not be visible soon.

Both the players, however, will be participating in the seven match T20I series against Pakistan along with the T20 World Cup in Australia.
