Two cricketing icons, namely Virat Kohli and Sourav Ganguly, are often put against each other by the fans and cricket analysts. The former Indian skippers share a lot in common when it comes to their behavior on the field. Both Kohli and Ganguly are known are aggressive leaders who lead from the front. Moreover, the two veterans are extremely passionate about the game.

With people comparing the current batting maestro and the superstar of yesteryear now and then, Ganguly finally revealed his opinion on the same. The current Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president believes that on-field behavior should not be the criteria for comparison.

Ganguly added that we can only compare two cricketers in terms of skills and Kohli leapfrogs him in that department.

Ganguly lauds Kohli

Speaking on The Ranveer Show, the president added,

"The comparison should be in terms of skill as a player. I think he is more skillful than I am. We played in different generations, we played a lot of cricket. I played in my generation, and he is going to continue playing and probably play more games than I did. At the present moment, I think I have played more than what he has but he'll get past that. He is tremendous."

Ganguly featured in 113 Tests and 311 One Day Internationals in his glorious career of over a decade scoring 7212 and 11363 runs, respectively. Kohli, on the other hand, has so far played 102 Tests, 262 ODIs, and 104 T20 Internationals. He is only the second player after Ross Taylor to represent a country in over 100 games across all the formats.
