Over the last few months, Yashasvi Jaiswal’s transfer news from Mumbai to Goa was turning heads. In April, he asked for NOC from the Mumbai Cricket Association for his further move to Goa for the upcoming domestic season.

In May, he took a ‘U’ turn and urged the MCA to withdraw his NOC as he wanted to continue with the state. Reports now confirm that the MCA has officially approved his request.

Jaiswal To Stay In Mumbai

Players transferring between domestic teams has been common in the Indian domestic circuit. Karun Nair, Wriddhiman Saha, Hanuma Vihari, Robin Uthappa, and the list is long. From Mumbai, Siddhesh Lad, Arjun Tendulkar have already made their way to Goa in the domestic circuit, and Yashasvi Jaiswal was set to follow their path.

He asked for a NOC from MCA to represent Goa in domestic cricket, where he was offered a leadership role. Despite asking for NOC, the young opener took a U-turn as he requested the Mumbai Cricket Association to withdraw his NOC in May, as he wanted to continue with the state team.

Jaiswal’s wait has been over finally ended. According to the source, the state association accepted Jaiswal’s request as he is all set to be available for the upcoming domestic season and all set to step into the field, donning Mumbai’s jersey.

MCA Confirms Jaiswal’s Availability

In recent development, the Mumbai Cricket Association’s President, Ajinkya Naik, confirmed Jaiswal’s availability for Mumbai. While speaking to the Indian Express, he said, the association has already accepted Jaiswal’s application.

“We have accepted Jaiswal’s withdrawal of NOC application, and he will be available for Mumbai during forthcoming domestic season,” he said.

The youngster is currently busy in the ongoing five-match Test series against England. After smashing an outstanding ton in the first innings of the first Test, he walked away scoring only 4 runs in the second innings, and India faced a heartbreaking 5-wicket defeat. As the upcoming clash looms on July 2, the youngster will look forward to a stronger bounce-back.
