After leading Punjab Kings to the IPL final and turning out for Mumbai Falcons, Shreyas Iyer is currently off cricketing duties, having missed out on the ongoing Test series. But it is tough to keep sportsmen away from the sport, as Iyer was seen in a different role.

Recently, the PBKS skipper traded cricket bats for steering and gears as he was spotted in a racing event in Dubai for the Mumbai Falcons. Decked out in full racing gear, Shreyas Iyer’s new role turned heads across social media.

Shreyas Iyer Lights Up The F1 World

The cricket world is known for Shreyas Iyer’s brilliance as he led the Punjab Kings in the IPL final after 11 years. Though they ended up being the runners-up, the skipper created magic on the field. After wrapping up the IPL, he was seen representing the Mumbai Falcons in the Mumbai T20 League.

Beyond Cricket, Iyer represented the Mumbai Falcons with an unexpected twist. This time, the ace batter brings his charms into a new arena. Shreyas Iyer stunned fans as he hit the track at the Dubai Kartdrome, representing the team, which promotes young racing sensations from Asia.

In the event, he was seen in a stunning racing suit with a helmet with his signature number of 96. Known for aggressive strokeplay and reflex on the cricket field, he was seen standing next to a professional Rotax-powered go-kart. Despite no glimpse of him participating in the event, fans are enjoying the unexpected side of him with the racing gear.

Iyer Still Awaits His Test Return

Despite consecutive success in the domestic circuit and IPL arena, Shreyas Iyer’s snub from the Indian Test squad for the England tour raised eyebrows. After having a blast in the Champions Trophy 2025, the Mumbai-born batter scored 243 runs and became the second-highest run scorer.

Adding to this, he ended, the PBKS skipper scored 605 runs and led the side into the finals. Despite this, he was overlooked by the team management for the five-match Test series. With the home Test season on the horizon, Iyer now eyes a triumphant comeback to the red-ball arena.
