India's likely XI revealed [Source: AP Photo]
It seems like Arshdeep Singh has to wait longer for his Test debut as India are likely to go in with Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna and Akash Deep as the three front-line seamers in the second Test vs England at Edgbaston. Akash Deep is likely to replace Jasprit Bumrah, who will sit out of the Test due to workload management.
As per a report by RevSportz Correspondent, Rohit Juglan, India's three pacers are locked in and Arshdeep has once again been snubbed by the team management, with the Bengal pacer getting the preference.
There was a buzz going around that Arshdeep would get a chance to showcase his skills in the second Test, however, to everyone's surprise, India could be tempted to go with Akash Deep, who is a better seam bowler and could exploit the seaming conditions.
No place for Shardul, Nitish Kumar likely to play
The report also add that Shardul Thakur, the all-rounder who looked out of touch at Headingley could be dropped from the playing XI, and in his place, Nitish Kumar Reddy could get a game.
The Hyderabad all-rounder had a stellar debut Test series in Australia, as he even scored a stunning century. Nitish Reddy could also chip in with the ball as India decided to strengthen their batting with his inclusion. As per several other reports, the team could also make other changes, with the inclusion of Kuldeep Yadav, the most likely one.
India's probable XI for 2nd Test Vs England
Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill (c), Rishabh Pant, Karun Nair, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, Akash Deep, Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj.
The rest of the team should remain the same with a longer rope given to the likes of Sai Sudharsan and Karun Nair, who had disappointing outings at Headingley.
