Kohli's Nephew, Sehwag's Son Register For DPL Auction As DDCA Adds Two New Teams

In a significant development, the new edition of the Delhi Premier League is getting bigger as the DDCA confirmed adding two new teams for season two which is likely to begin in the last week of July. Further, the teams are also set to witness a major reshuffle as the auction is set to take place on July 5. 

Virat Kohli's Nephew And Sehwag's Kids to Headline DPL 2 Auction

According to a report from Times Of India, the auction, which is set to take place on July 5, will also feature Virat Kohli's 15-year-old nephew and Virender Sehwag's sons - Aaryaveer Sehwag and Vedant Sehwag.

Talking about Virat's nephew, Aaryaveer Kohli, is the son of Virat's elder brother Vikas Kohli. Aaryaveer, who is 15 years old, is training under Raj Kumar Sharma, who also trained Virat in his budding years. 

Kohli has been making noise in Delhi's Under-16 squad, which is why he has been placed in Category C for the DPL auction. 

Talking about Sehwag's son, Aryavir Sehwag is already featuring for Delhi Under 19 squad. The 17-year-old rose to fame when he slammed 297 against Meghalaya in Cooch Behar Trophy, following which Sehwag also tweeted that his son missed a Ferrari by 23 runs. 

Two New Teams Added To DPL 2025

 The Delhi Premier League social account revealed that a closed-door auction took place on Saturday, June 28, and two new teams - Outer Delhi and New Delhi have been added to the league. 

"Naya season, naye jazbaat… aur DPL mein do nayi teams ki shuruaat! Welcoming Outer Delhi and New Delhi to the league. Let the capital’s finest cricketing battle begin. Yesterday in a closed-door auction process two new franchises were inducted in the Delhi Premier League," DPL tweeted.

With the two new teams - DPL now have East Delhi Riders, North Delhi Strikers, West Delhi Lions, West Delhi Lions, South Delhi Superstarz, Purani Dilli 6 and Central Delhi Kings.
