The Indian cricket team ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup in October are fretting over injuries to key players. Recently, all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out of the Asia Cup 2022 mid-way following a knee injury.

Jadeja injured himself while undertaking a water-based activity that was not a necessary part of the Indian team's training schedule. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is understood to have taken cognisance of this botch and are eyeing a thorough investigation of the incident.

Updates on the injury

Jadeja left the Asia Cup mid-way and underwent a successful knee operation in Mumbai a few days ago, but his participation in the multination event seems highly improbable.

Several BCCI officials are left fuming over this error and are quizzing coach Rahul Dravid's approach in this matter.

BCCI displeased with Jadeja, comments on Bumrah

“He had to balance himself on some kind of a ski-board as part of an adventure activity – not part of the training manual at all. It was absolutely unnecessary. He slipped and twisted his knee badly, which led to a surgery,”

“Bumrah has not been declared fit yet. He is going to be at the NCA this week before the selection. The World Cup is still over a month away. Therefore, his selection will happen considering that,”
