Former Pakistan legend Waqar Younis during an interaction with journalist Vimal Kumar on OneCricket's Love of Cricket put his thoughts forward on Mohd. Hafeez's remark on Rohit Sharma as a captain.

During a live show, Hafeez mentioned that Rohit's body language wasn't looking great as a skipper, and he might not be able to lead his side for longer.

Younis, contrary to his countrymen Hafeez, praised Rohit and said he is doing well as a captain. He also mentioned that everyone has good or bad form, and it shouldn't be a worrying sign as his future looks bright. Waqar also added that he values the Indian skipper a lot as a leader.

"Everyone has their own viewpoint (on Hafeez's comment). I really like Rohit as a leader and as a batter. Whoever said, he may also have gone through bad form or bad time if he played cricket.

"But I think Rohit is playing well, I don't think he is doing anything wrong in any of his basics. Sometimes you get out without playing a bad shot. Cricket is tricky at times. I still believe Rohit has a long future."

Deep Dasgupta also spoke on the issue with Indian Captain

Former Indian and Bengal cricketer Deep Dasgupta added his thoughts on the matter, explaining why Rohit is one of the best in cricket right now as a leader. He refuted Hafeez's claims of Rohit being strained.

"We all want Rohit to score 70-80, but it's not a failure. Playing with the strike rate of 160, providing a good start to the team, that's absolutely fine. I would probably emphasize more in the impact of an innings or of a spell. I think he is one of the best players in World Cricket. Not just that, but also he is one of the best leaders in World Cricket. I don't think Rohit Sharma is under pressure."

India is set to clash against Pakistan on 4th September (Sunday) in the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup with all eyes on skipper Rohit to return to form against their arch-nemesis.
