Yorkshire Racism Scandal could affect England's T20 World Cup plans

As the recent reports suggest, Yorkshire is again in controversy with Michael Vaughan, this time under the scanner. The controversy broke out when former Yorkshire cricketer Azeem Rafiq raised racism allegations against his erstwhile club.

The big news coming in is that some players from the English side, predominantly Adil Rashid's preparation in the lead-up to the World Cup, might be hampered. This development comes after the Cricket Discipline Commission (CDC) have asked to summon English cricketers for the tribunal to be held in October.

The players will be required to give their testimony regarding the matter, which could disrupt the future of several participants involved. The issue is mainly in context to the statement made by the former Three Lions skipper Vaughan which was alleged to be "too many of you lot, we need to do something about it" to some cricketers of Asian descent. Although, Vaughan, to date, denies this claim.

What Adil Rashid said regarding the controversy

"I wanted to concentrate as much as possible on my cricket and to avoid distractions to the detriment of the team, but I can confirm Azeem Rafiq's recollection of Michael Vaughan's comments to a group of us Asian players."

What could be expected?

Well, it is not clear what could happen, but all the lead-up suggests that there could be some clouds over the participation of the Yorkshire star if he is asked to provide evidence in person.
