Pat Cummins To Lead As Australia Reveal WTC Final Squad
This morning, Cricket Australia unveiled the men's squad for the upcoming WTC final against South Africa. The same team has been picked to take on West Indies in a Test series that will follow the all-important clash at Lord's.
While Pat Cummins has been chosen as the captain of the team, the comeback of Cameron Green has certainly strengthened Australia's all-round arsenal, which also includes Beau Webster.
Travis Head, Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne and Usman Khawaja are expected to spearhead Australia's batting unit, while Josh Inglis and Alex Carey have been picked as the wicket-keepers.
Nathan Lyon and Matthew Kuhnemann have been included as the frontline spinners, while the familiar faces of Cummins, Starc, Hazlewood and Boland form a fearsome fast bowling quartet.
Brendan Doggett, who has 177 First-Class wickets to his name in 48 matches, will travel as a reserve player on both these tours.
Beau Webster has been rewarded for his consistency with bat and ball in the domestic circuit. Meanwhile, Sam Konstas finds a place as an opening batter following his brisk cameos against India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
