India's final-over hero, Hardik Pandya, controlled his tears while expressing how the past six months' difficult phase flashed before his eyes when he led his team to the second T20 World Cup triumph in Barbados on June 29. 

Hardik Pandya was one of India's most-celebrated heroes of the 2024 T20 World Cup final as he defended 16 runs off the final over to lead India to glory. 

With South Africa's chase reduced to run-a-ball, Pandya provided the game-changing breakthrough of Heinrich Klaasen in the 17th over and went on to redeem himself in the final over.

That said, Hardik Pandya was reduced to tears following the mega victory. He appeared for a chat with a TV host and struggled to express his feelings.

Pandya said that while bowling the final over, he wanted to cry and let his emotions spill over as the past six months flashed before his eyes. 

Pandya, who has been the subject of heavy trolling and criticism since the Mumbai Indians captaincy saga unfolded, said he didn't want his critics to enjoy seeing him in misery. 

Hardik Pandya added that destiny had planned this redemption for him as he got the opportunity to save India from losing yet another ICC tournament and convert those haters into fans.

Indeed, Pandya's redemption story will be remembered for ages. During the IPL, he went through a media trial and was disrespected and trolled significantly. Only a victory in the national colours could have changed the evil narrative, and it eventually did.
