As India prepares for the high-stakes 2024 T20 World Cup final, the team has apparently made a unique and superstitious request to the ground staff at Kensington Oval in Barbados to allow them the same dressing room they used against Afghanistan in the Super 8 contest.

India and South Africa are set to clash in the ultimate title-deciding finale of the 2024 T20 World Cup later today at Kensington Oval ground in Barbados.

The game will go on floors from 8.00 PM IST, given the rain gods show mercy. Regardless, with a reserve day in place, the finale will be postponed in case of a washout.

Meanwhile, stakes are high for both India and South Africa as they look to eliminate the trophy drought. While the men in blue will start as favourites, the Proteas won't hand away the trophy on a platter.

India's 'Special Superstitious Request' To Kensington Oval Crew

Hence, given the importance of the game, India wants to leave no stone unturned to ensure luck favours them. As per journalist Vimal Kumar, Indian management requested the Kensington Oval crew to allow them the same dressing room they used in the Super 8 contest against Afghanistan.

Apparently, the team loved the vibe of the dressing room and wanted to have a peaceful environment ahead of the big clash. While some may view these requests as mere superstition, the Indian team's attention to detail and belief demonstrate their commitment to success.

The tournament is important in many ways. While Rahul Dravid's tenure as head coach will end following the conclusion of the game, Virat Kohli and captain Rohit Sharma are also expected to quit the shorter format and focus on bigger things.
