India achieved the unbelievable feat, pulling off a miraculous win when South Africa needed just 30 runs from 30 balls. Indian bowlers delivered absolute crackers to secure a seven-run victory, winning their second T20 World Cup title since MS Dhoni and co's triumph in 2007.

After India's victory, Axar Patel credited captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid for the success.

Axar was expected to bat lower down the order, but Dravid and Sharma gave him the opportunity to bat at number 5, which proved crucial for India's win.

"Rohit is an amazing captain. He led India very well in this tournament. Rahul [Dravid] bhai asked us to enjoy, not take pressure. I thought I'm going down the order. When we lost three wickets, Rahul bhai suddenly asked me to pad up. Didn't have time to think about batting and it helped me," said Axar.

Batting first, India posted a defendable 176-7 in 20 overs. At one point, they were struggling at 34-3 after losing the wickets of Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, and Suryakumar Yadav. 

India promoted Axar Patel to number 5, and he played the best innings of his career, scoring 47 runs off 31 balls.

Batting alongside Virat Kohli, Axar helped India recover from the collapse. He also took the crucial wicket of Tristan Stubbs when he was cruising. 

Although Heinrich Klaasen attacked Axar in his fourth over, it didn't diminish Axar's vital contributions to the team's success.
