Indian skipper Rohit Sharma couldn't control his happy tears after India clinched the much-awaited T20 World Cup 2024 trophy by defeating South Africa by 7 runs at Kensington Oval. The victory marked the end of an 11-year drought in ICC tournaments for India, a momentous achievement that brought Rohit Sharma to tears.

India's unbeaten run throughout the tournament culminated in a final where they posted a respectable total of 177, thanks to Virat Kohli's stellar 76-run innings. 

The Indian bowlers then showcased exceptional performance, with Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya delivering crucial overs in the death and scalping the big wickets, ensuring the narrow but decisive victory.

This win, 17 years after their last T20 World Cup triumph, marked India's triumphant return to cricket's summit. The Men in Blue, displaying nerves of steel and precision, celebrated their hard-earned title as champions of the world once again.
