Team India held off a rampaging Heinrich Klaasen to secure a seven-run win over South Africa in the final of the 2024 T20 World Cup. All-rounder Hardik Pandya starred with the ball for the 'Men in Blue'. 

After having a well-set Klaasen nick one to Rishabh Pant, the speedster delivered a tight final over to finish with match-winning figures of 3-20.

After the match, an emotional Pandya celebrated India's title-drought-ending win alongside his teammates and also shared a special message for fans on his social media account.

Mere moments after India's 2024 T20 World Cup win at the Kensington Oval, all-rounder Hardik Pandya took to his Instagram account and shared a special message for Indian team fans.

The cricketer expressed his gratitude for India's historic win and voiced his love for playing and winning for the country.

Pandya's spell set the tone for an Indian win

Summoned by his captain Rohit Sharma when South Africa reached 72-3 in nine overs, Pandya conceded a nine-run over to Heinrich Klaasen and Quinton de Kock. 

The all-rounder returned to bowl at the death at a time when the Proteas required just 30 runs from as many deliveries.

With South Africa taking command, Pandya tilted the fortunes back in India's favour by dismissing a well-set Klaasen. 

The runs subsequently dried up for the Proteas, with David Miller and Kagiso Rabada falling victim to Pandya in the last over to concede a seven-run win to the 'Men in Blue'.
