Rohit Sharma's India faced a surprising defeat against Sri Lanka in the second ODI, giving the hosts an unassailable lead in the series.

During this match, at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on August 4, India's star batter Virat Kohli was at the centre of a controversial DRS incident

The 35-year-old cricketer was initially adjudged LBW by the on-field umpire when he missed a nudge against spinner Akila Dananjaya.

Aakash Chopra's Shocking Comment on Kohl's LBW controversy

In the 15th over, Virat Kohli was given out lbw but quickly reviewed the decision. The third umpire found a nick on the ultra edge, overturning the on-field decision.

This reversal sparked strong reactions from the Sri Lankan players. Kusal Mendis expressed his frustration by throwing his helmet and captain Charith Asalanka argued with the on-field umpire

Speaking in a video on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra stated that even Kohli knew he had not hit the ball, highlighting the contentious nature of the incident.

"Kohli's dismissal was very interesting. The ball hit his back-pad and he reviewed immediately. But he also knew the ball hadn't hit the bat. But Ultra Edge said it had! It became a big issue because everyone felt it could have been Akila Dananjaya's wicket. He said in a video posted on his YouTube channel.

However, the controversy did not have a significant impact on the match, as Jeffrey Vandersay later dismissed Kohli for 14 runs.

India was bowled out for 208 runs. The 'Men in Blue' lost the game by 32 runs and are 1-0 behind in the series.
