Matthew Hayden, the former Australian and CSK legend has showered praise on MS Dhoni and has called him a 'magician, who has worked his magic to turn CSK's fortunes this season.

Dhoni's tactical masterclass has propelled CSK to their 10th IPL final. The 4-time IPL champions had a number of issues against them at the start of the season, including key players being ruled out due to injuries. However, despite having limited resources, MS Dhoni has been able to bring the best out of it.

As a matter of fact, MS Dhoni has been playing the IPL tournament with a knee injury, and there is a possibility that the CSK captain will call it quit after the end of the 2023 season. Hayden also feels that the former India skipper will not be around for next season.

“MS is a magician. He takes someone else’s trash and makes them treasure. He is a very skilful and positive captain. He said something really interesting which I thought summed up not only his humility and his truth around cricket where he is represented and that is in Tamil Nadu Cricket Association,” Hayden told PTI.

He added: “The alignment between that association and the franchise, how strong that is in terms of building that process. To me that is MS. There is a systematic way of going through things and working through them. He did that for India and he is doing it for Chennai Super Kings."

“Whether he plays or not next year it is almost irrelevant. Personally I don’t think he will but then he is M S Dhoni,” Hayden said at an event organised by University of Technology Sydney (UTS).

MSD's brilliance helped CSK reach the finals and now they await the winner of Mumbai Indians vs Gujarat Titans Qualifier 2 match. The winner will go into the finals to play against the CSK side.
