I Am Not Happy With Rohit Sharma's Batting: Virender Sehwag Lashes Out Before Big Game Against GT

The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 has seen a plethora of young domestic batters make a mark in the competition, and hog all the limelight. However, for a certain Rohit Sharma, who needs no introduction, has struggled to find consistency and form across the course of IPL 2023.

Leading Mumbai Indians (MI), Sharma has managed just 324 runs, which is well below his standards. Even against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Eliminator, Sharma could not contribute much with the bat, making just 11. The Indian captain will need to bring his 'A' game forward when MI takes on defending champions Gujarat Titans this evening in Qualifier 2.

Former India opener Virender Sehwag has lashed out at Sharma, for batting unlike himself all through the season. Speaking to Cricbuzz, the Nawab of Najafgarh explained how Sharma is forcing his shots, and not showing enough patience.

Here's what Viru said

"I am not happy with Rohit's batting. He is not a player who needs to force his shots. You already had 30 runs on the board from three overs. He needs to show patience and build his innings as he would get loose deliveries too on which he can capitalize. That knock of 65 (in Delhi) was good because he showed patience."

Thankfully for MI, other batters like Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Cameron Green, and Tilak Varma have managed to score big runs, which has somewhat balanced Sharma's bad form.

The winner of Qualifier 2 will meet four-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the final on Sunday at Ahmedabad.
