PBKS vs DC Called Off Due To Security Reasons

On Thursday, the IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh was halted. Surprisingly, it wasn’t due to rain or any natural issue, but because of a technical failure with the floodlights. The lights went out, and the crowd had to be evacuated for safety reasons.

After the match was unexpectedly stopped midway, IPL chief Arun Dhumal spoke to PTI, saying,

"Yes, the match has been called off as a precautionary step, because there are some incidents which happened in Jammu (where India intercepted missile strikes from Pakistan), I believe. That's what we got to know, so we thought it's wise to call off the game."

Meanwhile, due to escalating military tensions with Pakistan, there’s now uncertainty over the future of the league. Despite this, Friday’s match between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru is still scheduled to take place, according to Arun Dhumal.

He also mentioned that the teams and staff from the canceled Dharamsala match are being transported to Delhi via a special train from Pathankot, which is about 85 km away.
