Delhi Capitals had a torrid run in the IPL 2023, suffering a group-stage exit after a string of horrendous defeats. Although their bowlers did a decent job in almost every game, the batting unit was miserable, to say the least.
With only four wins in twelve outings, the Capitals languish at the bottom of the IPL 2023 points table. They will play for their pride when they meet Punjab Kings in their thirteenth group-stage fixture in Dharamsala tonight.
Ahead of this face-off, former Indian opener Aakash Chopra has asked some tough questions to the DC management.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Chopra asked whether DC should consider giving an opportunity to out-of-form Indian players like Prithvi Shaw and Priyam Garg, as they have already been eliminated.
Here's what Chopra said
"The focus will be on Delhi that what will Delhi do? Will Delhi rest their big-big players here and play with Indians? Will Prithvi Shaw get a chance again? Will either Sarfaraz Khan or Yash Dhull get an opportunity?"
Notably, emerging Indian star Prithvi Shaw had a horrific tournament, managing only 47 runs in six innings at a mediocre average of 7.83.
Likewise, Garg and Sarfaraz have also failed to meet expectations, recording underwhelming numbers in the tournament. So, it will be interesting to see if they make a comeback in this game.
