Shubman Gill is a special player and he showed his T20 prowess yet again in the ongoing IPL match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Gill slammed his maiden IPL century and guided GT to post 188 for 9 at the end of the 20-over mark.

Gill produced special innings, but SRH bounce back

Ahead of the ongoing match, Gill was standing at 475 IPL runs, and he breached the 500-run mark and several other records in the first innings. Despite losing Wriddhiman Saha for a three-ball duck, Gill had his tempo set and knew his game-plan right from the word go.

Saha's departure meant Gill had to be the chief aggressor and alongside Sai Sudharsan, he resurrected the GT innings. The dynamic batter smashed four boundaries in a row to Fazalhaq Farooqi and that rattled the SRH camp.

Without even taking any risk, Gill reached his fifth IPL fifty of the season in just 22 balls, and accelerated once he breached the 50-run mark.

He was amply supported by Sai Sudharsan, who came into the playing XI in place injured Vijay Shankar. He went toe-to-toe with Gill as the duo added 147 runs for the second wicket.

Sudharsan departed for a well-compiled 47, as SRH struck thrice in the space of 22 runs and also got rid off Hardik Pandya and David Miller in quick successions. Gill was unfazed by ther wickets falling as the GT opener slammed his maiden IPL century in 56 balls.

SRH tighten the screws towards the fag end as they picked up wickets at regular intervals to derail GT's momentum. Eventually, Gill was dismissed for 101 as the team finished on 188.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the spearhead of SRH bowling attack picked up 3 wickets in the last over of the innings and finished with figures of 5 for 30 in 4 overs.
