On Saturday, Prabhsimran Singh created history as he played a scintillating a knock of 103 to register his maiden IPL ton in grand style as PBKS clinched a crushing victory against DC, knocking them out of the playoffs race. The 22-year-old youngster batted sensibly to navigate Punjab through tricky conditions as he singlehandedly dragged them to a modest first innings score of  167 which proved way beyond the reach of the Delhi Capitals.

Prabhsimran made his IPL debut way back in 2019. Although he was in his infancy back then, his hidden talent would not go unnoticed by the great batting legends. Through his sporadic performances in the earlier IPL seasons, the youngster was raising a few eyebrows and was beginning to crawl into the limelight.

Fast forward to today, those short stints are now a thing of the past as the opening batter has consolidated his place in the Punjab Kings line up after smashing a record century.

Whilst many from the cricketing fraternity have come forward to praise his flamboyant batting efforts, an old video from the little master surfaced when he first took cognizance of his early batting exploits during the Covid hit 2020 IPL edition.

"Prabhsimran is one to watch out for. His backlift and bat swing is free flowing. When the ball hits his bat, and the sound it creates is quite amazing."

Tendulkar lauded Prabhsimran's batting style and reckoned that the youngster can progress a long way in his batting career. The Master Blaster's words came true as the 22-year-old youngster has hit the ground running in the current edition of the 2023 IPL.

Following their win against DC last night, PBKS live to fight another day and climb up to number 6 position in the points table. They will face the Capitals against in their next fixture on May 17 in Dharamshala.
