Indian women's team gun-blazing opener Shafali Verma is currently seen playing in the Under 19 Women's World Cup happening in South Africa. Her style of play is quite aggressive as she starts dominating the opponent right from the beginning.

Her ability with the bat is widely getting recognition as she has been impressive in international cricket since making her debut in 2019. Talking about her game, Shafali's known to strike big and is expected to become one of the best hitters in world cricket in upcoming years.

The 18-year-old recently spoke about her favourite cricketer and mentioned her idol while growing up. She was quite impressed with English cricketer Liam Livingstone's smashing ability and along with that, claimed Sachin Tendulkar to be her childhood hero.

“I think nowadays, I like Livingstone’s batting because he’s hitting very well, and of course growing up, playing cricket, I used to watch Sachin Tendulkar sir.

“So of course, Sachin sir is also my role model and I love to see him, how he is playing the game and he’s very calm. And I was also thinking to learn something like that from him."

She has been an integral part of the Indian setup and would want to continue to pile on runs when she next comes on to bat against Scotland U-19 women's team. Also, with the Women's T20 World Cup lined up for next month, she would be raring to go.
