After the tenth over, suddenly things are changing: Harmanpreet reflects on yet another loss

Having depth in the seam bowling department is key going forward, Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur said after the series loss against Australia on Tuesday.

Despite Australia missing key players, India women couldn't capitalise on it and lost the series 4-1 at home.

With Pooja Vastrakar not in the Indian squad due to an injury, Meghna Singh, Anjali Sarvani and Renuka Singh were the pace bowling options for Harmanpreet in the series. While Renuka and Sarvani played in all five matches, Meghan was dropped after playing just two matches.

Harmanpreet reflects on the series loss

"In South Africa, seam bowling will be more effective than spin bowling. That is why we started with Meghna, but sometimes the player is not ale to perform as expected. Pooja will join the team and she will fill that area. Her one or two overs are really important. In this series, we had called up extra medium pacers, and we are watching them closely."

She added: We are doing well in the first ten overs, but after the tenth over, suddenly things are changing. We did plan a lot of things, but we are not able to execute them."

This series loss will a bitter pill to swallow, but the Indian women's team will be looking to perform much better in the upcoming Tri-Series competition, featuring England women and South Africa women.
