Bangladesh's batting has been criticised in the recent past for displaying rash cricket at times. With India set to tour Bangladesh for a three-match ODI and two-match Test series, the stakes are high for the home side.

Ahead of the ODIs, all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz has stated that the batters must score big runs if they have any chance of competing with Team India.

As per a report in India Today, Miraz explained that in today's  time, a score between 250-260 is not enough.

"In today’s ODI cricket, we need to score 280 to 300 runs for bowlers to fight. Thanks to god, we are performing well in the format and scored above 300 as well. Scores of 250-260 aren’t safe nowadays and you have to score 280-300,

"Batters have to take responsibility. The top five batters in the team can’t afford to give away wickets and that’s when a score of around 300 will be possible."

Miraz, who is playing in the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL), further said that Bangladesh players will need to be mentally tough while facing a side like India.

The ODI series will be followed by a two-match Test series beginning on December 14.
