The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has signed a massive 10-year association with ITW MEA, a sports management firm, to assist in operating and developing the Afghanistan Premier League (APL T20). This long-term deal is seen as a big step forward for Afghan cricket and shows that ACB is serious about building a strong T20 league like the IPL or PSL.

APL T20 launched its first edition in 2018, where Balkh Legends beat Kabul Zwanan in the final to claim the maiden title. However, the tournament has been stalled ever since.

The ACB hopes this deal will not only make the APL T20 more popular around the world but also give young Afghanistan cricketers a great platform to show their talent.

The signing ceremony took place in the UAE, a country that has hosted many of Afghanistan’s home matches in recent years. The next season of the APL T20 is currently in the making, and great hopes are being built for a larger, better, and more competitive tournament.
