Pakistan Women secured a six-wicket victory over Ireland Women in the 2nd T20I of the three-match series at Gadaffi Stadium on Monday.

Ireland post a respectable total

The match was reduced to 17 overs due to the rain lashing out at Lahore. The Irish opener Gaby Lewis was dismissed early, but Amy Hunter (36) was impressive to provide a good start.

Hunter added 34 runs for the second wicket with Orla Prendergast (20). Then the skipper Laura Delany was dismissed soon for 6 off 9 off Nashra Sandhu. In the end, Eimear Richardson (15) and Rebecca Stokell (17) gave a finishing touch as the visitors posted 118 on the board.

Nida Dar and Sandhu picked two wickets each for the Women in Green.

Pakistan batter seal an easy chase

Pakistan's reliable batters Muneeba Ali (12) and Bismah Maroof (2) could not contribute much at the top.  However, Javeria Khan (35) was terrific with her efforts to get Pakistan back on track.

In the middle-order, Nida Dar (28) and Ayesha Naseem (25*) were impressive with their stroke-play to win the game for Pakistan. Arlene Kelly was the lone wicket-taker for the Ireland.

With this victory, Pakistan levelled the T20I series 1-1, and the final game of the T20I series will be played on Wednesday.
