Kolkata Knight Riders are the defending IPL champions and though they have not been consistent in the 2025 season, they are still in the race for the playoffs. They, however, need to win all their matches and it has to start with the game against RCB on May 17.

Since the IPL got suspended for a week, there have been doubts over the return of overseas stars. As of now, only Jamie Overton and Jake Fraser-McGurk have confirmed their unavailability while rest of the players can still make it.

Spencer Johnson Confirms His Availability For IPL 2025

For KKR, most of their foreign players are coming back, and now, Quinton de Kock whose return was in doubt has also confirmed his availability according to ESPNCricinfo. He is set to join the team on May 15 while the Australian pacer, Spencer Johnson has also confirmed his availability after days of uncertainty.

The only overseas player of KKR who has still not confirmed his participation is Moeen Ali. Kolkata Knight Riders have two matches left in the league stage and have 11 points in their kitty. They would have to win against RCB and SRH by a good margin and hope other results go their way to make it to the playoffs this time around.

As far as Quinton de Kock is concerned, he scored a fifty early in the season, but it was followed by string of low scores and was then replaced by Rahmanullah Gurbaz. The Afghan though has also failed to make an impact, and KKR might opt for the experience of Quinton de Kock in the must-win game against RCB at the Chinnaswamy.
