Dawid Malan, one of the most dangerous batters in the English batting lineup is unlikely to play against India in the semi-finals confirmed vice-captain Moeen Ali. The former number 1 batter in the T20I rankings had pulled his groin in the game against Sri Lanka.

The batter limped off the field in England's final match of the Super 12 stage of the tournament. Ali confirmed that things are looking grim for the left-handed batter.

Moeen Ali clears the air

"He has been one of our best players for a number of years. I don’t know but to be honest with you it is not looking great. He went for scans yesterday and when he arrived, we don’t really know much but it is not looking great.”

Moeen also commented on the Indian team

"England are the underdogs. India have been playing fantastic over the last year and even if you look at the tournament they have been playing really well. I don’t think we have to be honest, we have been a little behind."

England is all set to meet India in the second semi-final of the tournament on 10th November. The Three-Lions had barely made it to the semi-finals after a low margin win against Sri Lanka. India have been going all guns blazing in the tournament.
