The Sydney Thunder have announced the re-signing of Australian all-rounder Ben Cutting for the upcoming season of Big Bash League (BBL) 2022-23. Cutting moved from Brisbane Heat to Thunder after 10-long years in 2021 and has since played two editions for the Sydney-based club, picking up 5 wickets and scoring 439 runs.

Overall, in 96 BBL matches, the 35-year-old has picked up 68 wickets and accumulated 1,632 runs. He has represented Australia in four One-Day Internationals and seven T20Is between 2013 and 2017.

Cutting, who has been working with a sports psychologist lately, in the club's statement spoke about finding his old mojo back and how he is enjoying his cricket more than ever before.

Cutting on rejoining Thunder

“I’m loving cricket more than ever. I feel mentally and physically refreshed after not playing cricket over the last few months.

"I’m aiming this summer to fuse together my batting and bowling games for Thunder. I want to get them firing."

Cutting worked on his bowling with former Queensland Bulls paceman Joe Dawes over the break as well. The T20 specialist also looked forward to working with David Warner, Usman Khawaja and coach Trevor Bayliss.

The Thunder start their BBL 12 campaign on December 13 against the Melbourne Stars.
