Not long ago, the shocking revelation of Azeem Rafiq regarding the racist abuses hurled at him during his stint with Yorkshire shook the entire world. And now, as the matter seemed to be diluted, a new angle to it has created a buzz in the UK.

As per emerging reports, Rafiq is set to move abroad, as he has constantly been receiving abuse as well as intimidation. In one case, captured by CCTV earlier this month, an individual was seen defecating in the garden of the home where his parents live. In another, a masked intruder was seen prowling outside the property. Such horrific acts by the abusers have led to his harsh decision.

As it stands, Rafiq has made up his mind to leave the country for the sake of his family, especially his ailing father, who needs the support of an oxygen tank for his survival. Earlier, his sister took a similar step following the Yorkshire police's inability to ensure her safety.

However, amidst all this personal tragedy, Rafiq seems determined to continue his fight against racism. In the coming weeks, he has committed to providing further evidence to the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) Committee.

He is also a key witness in the Cricket Discipline Commission's case against several present and past Yorkshire players and coaches. Despite suffering a lot, his undying grit to eradicate racism from the English County culture has earned praise from all corners of the world.
