After a decent performance in their first-ever appearance in the global tournament in UAE last year, Gerhard Erasmus-led Namibia have set their eyes on the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 after announcing 16 member squad for the event.

With just two months remaining for the prized tournament, Namibia have retained the senior pros David Wiese, Ruben Trumpelmann, JJ Smit and Jan Frylinck, whose much-needed effort gave them hope in the previous edition.

Some new names have also graced the squad, with the likes of wicketkeeper-batter Lohan Louwrens, batter Divan la Cock, and pacer Tangeni Lungameni set to roll their eyes for the grandstand event. The Namibian side will feature in the Group A of Round 1 with Sri Lanka, Netherlands and UAE, who will battle it out against each other with the top two teams making it to the Super 12 stage.

Pierre de Bruyn will don the hat of the head coach whereas the experienced Proteas campaigner Albie Morkel will be his assistant along with his sibling Morne Morkel as bowling consultant.
