In an exhilarating display of athleticism and skill, USA's fast bowler Ali Khan took a stunning catch to dismiss South African captain Aiden Markram off Saurabh Netravalkar's fullish delivery, who was just four runs short of his half-century.

USA and South Africa locked horns at Antigua for the first game of the Super 8 round. South Africa batted first, and Quinton de Kock and Aiden Markram's 100-run partnership put the Proteas in the driver's seat.

However, after Harmeet Singh deceived de Kock, the USA saw an opening and captain Aaron Jones wasted no time in recalling his trump card back into the attack.

Saurabh Netravalkar, who had leaked just 7 runs in his first two overs and dismissed Reeza Hendricks, repaid Jones' faith by removing set batter Aiden Markram.

The South African skipper was in superb form, showcasing his batting prowess with a mix of elegant strokes and aggressive shots. He was racing to his half-century but was lured by Netravalkar's fullish delivery, which was a bit outside the off-stump line.

Markram went after it to attack but arrived a little late and sliced it to Ali Khan at third man. Ali Khan, meanwhile, sprinted from square third man to take a fantastic diving catch just inches above the ground.

Displaying impeccable timing and focus, Khan leaped and caught the dipping ball, completing a stunning dismissal that left the crowd in awe.

The catch was deemed clean, and Aiden Markram was denied a much-deserved half-century. Yet, South Africa is headed towards a massive total, with Heinrich Klaasen and Tristan Stubbs in the middle, trying to finish things off on a high.
